World Thinking Day is February 22nd this year, so mark your calendars!

World thinking day was started in 1926 as a day when Girl Scouts and Girl Guides all around the world think of each other and give thanks and appreciation to their “sister” Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

The World Thinking Day theme for 2010 is girls worldwide say “together we can end extreme poverty and hunger” and the aim is to raise awareness among everyone about the situation and improve the lives of the poorest people in the world.

All of the money raised this year will be going towards getting rid of poverty and hunger in Haiti, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Georgia, and Maldives.

If your Service Unit is having an event, see if you are collecting any money for the World Thinking Day fund, and ask your friends and family to donate.

If you’re not having an event, talk to your Service Unit and see if it’s possible to have one!
