Dear Girl Scout Members, Volunteers and Supporters,

I hope you and your families are well in light of the disastrous fires that have ravaged our region. We are proud to stand with you as you help friends, neighbors and sister Girl Scouts recover, and eventually rebuild.

Coming together in times of adversity truly demonstrates the strength of the Girl Scout Movement.

Yesterday, as we were celebrating the International Day of the Girl and advocating for ways that girls can own their strength all over the world, Boy Scouts of America announced a decision to offer Boy Scout programs to girls.

We know Girl Scouts is the best girl leadership organization in the world, created with and for girls. Together, we share an unwavering belief in the all-girl, girl-led, and girl-friendly environment that Girl Scouts provides. For 106 years, our program has developed our nation’s strongest female leaders and our movement is on the rise.

We hear from girls and families like you every day about the value of the one-of-a-kind experiences we offer, including in STEM, outdoor, entrepreneurship and life-skills programming.  Each year, thousands of exceptional Girl Scouts earn Girl Scouting’s highest award, the Gold Award, by transforming an idea and vision for change into an actionable plan with measurable and sustainable impact.  To read more about the proven benefits of single-gender programming, check out yesterday’s GS Blog.

This is a great time to be a Girl Scout. With the opening of GSHCC’s STEM Center + MakerSpace just a month away, and new programs and partnerships in development every day, we’re providing unmatched opportunities for local girls.
